Issue Seven

Issue Seven: Childhood

How did you spend the summer between 4th and 5th grade? What is your earliest memory of a family holiday? The things we remember and miss about being children varies from person to person but it's safe to assume that most of us have at one point or another wished we could return to those early days when life was kinder and responsibility meant walking the dog or clearing the table after dinner. Nostalgia is defined as "a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations." We are the product of every little piece of that personal history, be they good or bad, and as we grow older and seek to understand ourselves more, self reflection will often lead back to our salad days. In the Compound Butter Childhood Issue, we explore the highs and lows of adolescence, the awkward and delicious moments of family meals, and so much more.
